π Before the sun rose, Dr. Aimee Eyram Eklu was already awakeβnot because she wanted to be but because she had to be. A crying baby πΆπ½, a school run π«, a mountain of lectures ahead πβ¦ but there was no room for complaints, only action. πͺπ½π₯
π€ This is her story.
A young woman who walked into medical school carrying the dreams of generations before her. π₯π₯Ό Her father tried. Her uncle tried. Both were brilliant, but life happened. She would be the first doctor in her family. π©π½ββοΈ There was no room for failureβshe was doing this for them, for herself, and for the little girl who would look up to her one day. ππ«
But life didnβt slow down just because she was chasing her dreams. ππ½ββοΈπ¨ She wasnβt only a medical studentβshe was also a mother, a wife, and a businesswoman. πΆπ½β€οΈπΌ
π Her journey began with a BSc in Physician Assistantship Studies from Central University. But she didnβt stop thereβ she entered the Graduate Entry Medical Program (GEMP) and didnβt just graduate, she EXCELLED, π earning the award for Best Graduating GEMP Student in Psychological Medicine and Mental Health. πβ¨
πΆπ½ She had her first child in medical school. Then her second. She wasnβt just studying anatomyβ she was growing a whole human inside her π€°π½while solving clinical cases. π She juggled pregnancy with 7:30 AM lectures, morning sickness with intense study sessions, and breastfeeding with late-night revisions. ππ
π€ Some nights, she barely slept. Some mornings, she fought through exhaustion. Some days, she was almost broke. But she never gave up! π
π‘ Every morning, she woke up before dawn to bathe her little girl, pack her school bag π, and rush her out the door before sprinting to class herself. ππ½ββοΈπ¨
πΌ And then there was her business. Orders π¦ had to be fulfilled, deliveries π had to be made, and clients had to be satisfied. But she built a system. She delegated. Her husband and sister stepped in. She didnβt try to be a superwoman who did it allβshe was wise enough to ask for help! ππ½π¨π½βπ©π½βπ§π½
π Her biggest challenge? Being everything to everyone all at once. π
π©π½βπ§π½ She was a mother who had to be present.
π She was a wife who had to be understanding.
π She was a student who could not afford to fail a single exam.
π And through it all, she had to remain herself.
But she never gave up. πͺπ½ She showed up every single day. π
π And she didnβt just make it through medical schoolβ she EXCELLED.
π©π½ββοΈ She left medical school not just as a doctor but as proof that women donβt just survive challengesβwe CONQUER them! π₯π
π― But Dr. Eklu isnβt stopping there.
π She is the Founder of Aimee Medicals, a medical supplies venture, with plans for health-related philanthropic work.
π©Ί She is the force behind Aimee Labcoats & Scrubs, producing and supplying high-quality medical apparel.
π She is the Manager of JanieMay Fashion, proving that a woman can dominate multiple industries at once. πΌπ₯
π₯ And soon, she will be launching her own YouTube channel to share her journey and inspire othersβ because stories like hers deserve to be told. π¬β¨
π‘ Because that is what women do.
β
We walk into boardrooms and command respect.
β
We nurture families while building empires.
β
We show up for our children and still chase our ambitions.
β
We carry life within us and still go out and create the lives we dream of.
π π½ββοΈ We donβt wait for perfect conditionsβ WE MAKE IT WORK!
π₯ So today, on International Womenβs Day, we celebrate the resilience, ambition, and boundless strength of women everywhereβ from those powering through classes with period cramps π©Έπ to those balancing career, family, and personal dreams. πΌπ©π½ββοΈβ€οΈ
π You are seen.
π You are valued.
